When we lost Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, was when I knew that many of my wrestling idols were at the age where they had fewer days ahead of them then they did behind them. I told myself, I didn’t know how I would handle it when “Mean” Gene passed away and today I really am truly at a loss. Okerlund was one of the voices of my childhood and responsible to making many wrestlers look better than they actually were. It takes a tremendous talent to not only get himself over, but to get others over at the same time.
RIP “Mean” Gene Okerlund. May you have a Martini waiting for you at the big bar in the sky.
