The Rock is Black Adam, Ninja Turtles wasn’t THAT Bad, and Doctor Who, too!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson confirms on twitter the long standing rumor that he will be playing Captain Marvel/Shazam nemesis and AntiHero Black Adam. Personally, I’m super excited to see Rock play the bad guy in a major motion picture! Now the question is, who plays Cap?

NinjaTurtles2014

One of this summers biggest blockbusters was the slightly controversail Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and personally…I REALLY ENJOYED IT. By the time you see the four Turtles for the second time, you’ve more or less forgotten about their less than perfect character designs. The movie holds down the Turtles spirit of fun, ninja action and brotherly comedy. A lot of people said they refused to see the movie because Shredder was white now…guess what? SPOILER? He’s not. William Fitchner is NOT the Shredder. So quit yer bitchin! Megan Fox’s role as April was lackluster to put it lightly, but you kinda tune her out as well once you get a feel for the Turtles themselves. Will Arnett as a new version of “Verne” from the 80s cartoon? Classic. Also, Parmesan Cheese and Mustard sandwiches. I really feel most people’s complains about the film are nit picking because they don’t want to tarnish the 90’s film, which I believe is one of the best comic book/action/sci fi movies ever. But it honestly doesn’t. Go see Ninja Turtles and enjoy being a kid again!

CapaldiDoctor

We’re not two episodes into Capaldi’s run as the Doctor and I’m loving it so far. LIke most Doctor’s, his first episode saw some of the old Matt Smith-isms as he continued to “cook” from regenerating but he soon became a much more serious, somewhat dark, almost stand offish asshole. He reminds me of a bit of Eccleston’s run as 9 was more serious compared to Tennant and Smith who gave the Doctor a little more lightheartedness, but could still hold down the seriousness. I’m interested to see where his run will go and how his relationship will develop OR crumble with Clara.

StarlordFinger

“Oh, I’m sorry. I don’t know how this machine works.”

Without a doubt the biggest hit of the summer has been Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Taking a bunch of B or C list characters and making them major movie stars? That takes balls, Marvel and you pulled it off! Guardians of course was a big, fun, roller coaster ride of a movie with a great cast, including Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot (I Am Groot) and Bradley Cooper is almost unrecognizable as Rocket Racoon. Chris Pratt becomes a huge star as Star Lord himself, Zoe Saldana is always awesome, and I was quite impressed by Dave Bautista (WWE’s Batista) as Drax the Destroyer among so many others.

What did you enjoy from movies and TV this summer? What news surprised you or what did you predict that came true? (I totally called Rock as Black Adam!) And are you ready for the return of the Fall TV seasons? Because it’s almost here! What shows are you waiting for you?
